LA GRANDE BAIE, our privileged partner, welcomes artists for the duration of the show and offers preferential rates to the exhibitors, accompanying persons and the interns (the information regarding tariffs will be sent at a later date).   
All pastel artists, professional or experienced amateurs, can submit their application after becoming members of the association.   An independent jury makes the selection and Its decisions are final. By submitting his/her entry, the artist accepts all the terms and conditions specified below:

TERMS and CONDITIONS

 WORKS  SUBMITTED  FOR  SELECTION

Each art work must be an original and personal creation
Ø  must be recent and not have been shown previously at other shows or on social networks;
Ø  For works inspired by photographs, the artist must provide the written authorization from the author of the original.
Ø  Copies of any artists, contemporary or earlier; works made under the supervision of another artist and digital works will note be accepted.
Ø  For mixed-technique works, pastel or sanguine must represent at least 70% of the mediums used .
Sending photos
Ø  Send only digital photos, high resolution (format JPEG 800 x 600 pixels minimum), as faithful as possible to the original. Send via large file transfer service.

Ø  Each photo should be identified as follows:



NAME OF THE AUTHOR -TITLE – dimensions: HEIGHTxWIDTH - SALE PRICE:
              Dimensions :
       Minimum 30cm x 40cm ;
If the format exceed 60H x 80W cm, please inform the organizers at the time of submitting the application, the acceptance will depend on the available space.
Ø  Pastels should have a solid, discreet frame (under glass or similar are not accepted), provided with one or more solid fasteners compatible with the system of picture rails or chains (sawtooth picture hanger will not be accepted);
Ø  All information regarding the artist and the artwork must be written on the back (title, sale price, dimensions, name / pseudo, contact details, phone number, email address ...);
Ø  It is the artist’s responsibility to assure that the theme, the painting style and the framing of the works create a harmonious ensemble.
C In case of non-compliance with one of the above conditions
Ø  the application will not be considered
Ø  the work might not be accepted for hanging.

NB: under any circumstances and for whatever reason, only the organizers are entitled to withdraw any work before the end of the exhibition.

TO PRESENT THEIR CANDIDACY, THE ARTISTS SHOULD:

Ø  SEND by email
o   the completed entry form.
o   a personal presentation of up to 15 lines, in editable format, word or word processor;
o   an identity photo
Ø  SEND by mail
o   the annual membership fee of 30 € paid by check made out to the order of SOLEARTIS (this fee is not refundable and will be retained by the association even in case of non-selection);
the complete dossier must be received by December 30th, 2019, midnight

Ø  Artists may INSURE their works if they deem it appropriate; SOLEARTIS is committed to providing the best care possible, but declines all legal responsibility for the works entrusted to the association;
Ø  In all cases, the artist attests being up to date with his or her legal and tax obligations[1].

SELECTION OF WORKS

The artist is required to submit 6 works for the selection.
The selection criteria are : technical quality, originality, artistic quality, as well as a clearly-distinguishable personal touch.
The jury may select as many works as it deems appropriate.
The jury’s decision will be communicated to each participant beginning January 15th, 2020.
COnly the selected works will be hung and will appear in the catalog.
We ask you explicitly not to present them in other exhibition spaces or on social networks!

IF THE WORK IS SELECTED

A hanging fee amounting to 20 euros per artwork selected will be asked.

COPYRIGHT

SOLEARTIS and its Partners require unreserved consent from all exhibiting artists to reproduce their work and use their names, free of charge, in all promotions and events related to this exhibition, in all formats: paper document, written or visual press , movie, website, blog ...

DEPOSIT AND RETRIVAL OF THE WORKS

Reception of works: Sunday, June 7th and Monday, June 8th 2020 from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm
at LA GRANDE BAIE, TOURISTRA
VACANCES, Bd Bonne Anse, 17500 LA PALMYRE-LES MATHES.

Retrival on site : Saturday, June 27th after 6:30pm , Sunday, June 28th from 10am to 12pm and  Monday, June 29th from 10am to 12pm  
The retrival of the works, by the artist themselves or by a person they have explicitly designated at  registration or at least 4 days before the end of the show , will be possible upon the presentation of the list of paintings selected,  .

C. Pastels sent by carrier must be carefully wrapped in a sturdy and reusable material. The return of the artwork has to be be arranged and paid for by the artist  The association SOLEARTIS will supervise the reception and  the retrival of the artwork only.

The carrier chosen by the artist will deliver and retrive the artwork, at the expene of the artist. The cost of the return must be paid in advance ; SOLEARTIS volunteers will deliver the package to the carrier on Monday, June 30th, 2020 only.

PASTELS  SENT FROM ABROAD

In addition to the above rules:
Ø  packages sent from abroad will  be received between June 5 th and June 10 th, 2020;
Ø  Must be declared at customs ; 
Ø  In order to reduce transport costs and avoid breakage, SOLEARTIS will receive the artwork without  glass; in such case;
o   framed pastels must be protected by clear accetate or equivalent, mounted in a secure way to avoid possible damage  during transportation. 
o   the mat and the cardboard backing with artwork information written on it must be included
The exact dimensions of the works (specified in cm,  standard French formats: 40X50 cm or 50X70 cm only, (including mat) must be specified on the entry form. In all other cases , consult us.

OPENING  AND  PUBLIC  RECEPTION

All pastel artists, selected or not, are cordially invited to attend the opening of the exhibit.
COUR organization is based on voluntary services. To welcome the visitors and ensure the success of the exhibition each participant agrees to be in attendance at the exhibition space for one or more days; date(s) to be specified on the registration form and on the Doodle that will be sent to you after the selection.

PRIZES  AND  AWARDS

The recipients of the prizes and awards at previous pastel show will have their artworks marked as “not in competition” for this biennale.
Our partners’ choices for the awards will be announced on the opening night.

SALES

Ø  Exhibitors agree to sell the exhibited works; sales will be effectuated on site by SOLEARTIS;
Ø  SOLEARTIS appreciates and thanks the artists for contributing to its development by donating 15% of all final sales. Please take this into account when calculating your prices.
Ø  The artist may sell his CD roms or books, on the days he is in attendance, participates in the workshop or makes a presentation. 
CSOLEARTIS or volunteers cannot be required to replace the artist and cannot be held responsible for loss, theft or non-payment.

MORE ABOUT EXHIBITION

Only the SOLEARTIS association is authorized to designate pastellists, educators and lecturers intervening during this show. Free or paid activities for the public are listed below:
Ø  Demonstration and realization of the artworks;
Ø  Introductions or internships.
Ø  Conference (s);
Ø  Presentations of art materials;
At the time of the registration, each participant can propose the dates and the subject of their intervention, as well as the type of presentation they will make
Artists will be personally informed if their proposal has been retained and will be contacted to specify the terms.


SUMMARY
Participation rules for the international pastel exhibition from June 13 th to 27 th, 2020

Ø  participants from abroad they will pay the fee by direct bank transfer (see IBAN below)

Ø  High-resolution digital photos.
CAfter the selection, send the amount corresponding with the number of artworks selected for hanging :
20 € per artwork .

Reception and retrieval of works

The packages will be received between June 5 th and June 10 th, 2020 only and returned to the carrier on June 29th only
Deposit on site: Sunday, June 7 th and Monday, June 8 th 2020 from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm.

The opening will take place on Saturday June 13, 2020, from 5 pm
